I have a strong educational foundation on issues of depression, anxiety, and individuals going through a transitional period, and I am familiar with the implications and potential setbacks such disorders can cause. I am fully committed to advocate and work with individuals/families facing such setbacks. My background includes over 6 years experience in an educational setting (teaching, assisting, and advocacy). As well as 7 years experience working with multicultural and first generation adolescents and families. While I utilize many models and approaches for therapy I tend to lean towards using Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy and Structural Therapy. I work with each person in a method that is most successful in expressing themselves, whether that be talking, art or play therapy. I want to honor your own experiences and knowledge you have gained through your culture and upbringing. Additionally I encourage healing through building connection with community, human contact and group therapy.
I aim to create a safe, comfortable and collaborative environment in order to reach your personal goals. I cater to each person, wherever they are in their process, while exploring narratives that hold them back from growth and healing. I am happy to introduce you to mental health treatment and help you understand the process. I also offer services in Spanish.
I received my Bachelor’s Degree in psychology from Western Oregon University, and my Master’s Degree in Marriage, Couple and Family Therapy from Lewis and Clark College.
In my free time you can find me anywhere with my dog – parks, walks, or on the couch.
