A life of journeying has brought me here; with an intense focus on the creative drive, I spent a decade pursuing my passion as an artist. I explored many rabbit holes, not least significant of them leading me to this current manifestation as an LGBTQ+-Affirmative Therapist Intern. I am inherently trauma-informed, not only because of my training but because I have worked through my own personal trauma.
I have danced with the light, the dark, and the spectrum of color. Now I’d like to help you along your journey.
A recent graduate from Antioch University in Los Angeles, I chose that school because of its mission with a focus on social justice. This means that I am particularly invested in helping marginalized folks seek and discover modes of self and community empowerment. I am postmodern—Relying on individual, subjective experience and trusting that you will have your own unique way of seeing the world and therefore, your own unique way of walking your path; is an important part of the work that we’ll do together. I am a feminist—Understanding the nature of power in our society and how enforced hierarchies function to create rifts and challenges amongst individuals in their communities is another crucial component to the work that we’ll do together. I’ll help you to understand these dynamics and then how to transcend them. I work collaboratively and creatively, which means that dogma is not a part of the services that I offer. If it isn’t working, we’ll find something else that does work.. there are infinite possibilities.
I am supervised by Dr. Karlaina Brooke, PsyD; Keely Helmick, LPC; and Sarah Dobey, LPC & ACS.
