As a clinician, I strive to provide an open, non-judgmental, caring, and empathetic environment where clients feel heard and understood. I view the client as the expert in their own lives and looks forward to forming a supportive therapeutic relationship with all of my clients where everyone feels respected and valued. I use multiple clinical approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Expressive Arts as well as drawing from an eclectic group of interventions when appropriate.
I have significant experience and am passionate about working with adults and adolescents with trauma, anxiety, mood disorders, LGBTQ+ issues, personality disorders, clients leaving high control groups, and interpersonal issues related to life changes.
I earned both my undergraduate and graduate degree in Missoula, Montana but I’m happy to be back home in Portland. My experience has been as an HIV counselor, school therapist, in addictions, as well as spending the last four years working with severe and persistent mentally ill clients.
Outside of work I like to connect with nature and friends including my cat named Edgar as well as volunteering when possible. After over 10 years working in this field I am also passionate about learning new modalities to continue to offer the best possible services to my clients.
